LaTonya Nicole Barber
LaTonya Nicole Barber is the CEO and Event Consultant for Eloquets Enterprise LLC, Event Planning and Consulting Company. Eloquets Enterprise is comprised of professional coordinators to assist in planning events without worry. Because of Ms. Barber’s established business relationships, Eloquets offers an array of benefits, providing one-stop services for all special occasion needs. Since 1999, Ms. Barber has thrived on providing quality service, tailored to fit any budget, so one can focus on enjoying their memorable event. Ms. Barber, along with her staff, has organized weddings, graduations, proms, fundraisers, concerts, reunions, church events, corporate affairs, trade shows and more.

Ms. Barber’s most recent success would consist of launching the first upscale and elaborate Bridal Expo entitled, “Pamper the Bride & Beyond” in collaboration with Divazstyle Weddings and Precious Occasions. In 2006, Ms. Barber created and designed themes for the Cleveland Toast New Years Celebration, served as the Event Chair for Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Campaign, and was the Event Coordinator for Morris Chestnut Pre-Super Bowl IV Party. Ms. Barber has expanded her business by conducting event planning workshops, classes, and seminars in Metro Detroit. Ms. Barber’s vision is to become a global event producer and instructor. Ms. Barber empowers individuals with the basic knowledge needed for event planning as it relates to marketing, business etiquette, budget planning, time management, event coordination, vendor procurement, customer retention, creativity and design.

In 1997, Ms. Barber received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from University of Detroit Mercy. She strives for excellence by continuing her studies in the MBA program at University of Phoenix. She aspires to receive her Bridal Consultant Certificate in 2008.

In May 2006, Ms. Barber organized the Detroit Rising S.T.A.R.S., (Students Together for Art, Rhythm, and Song) a performing arts curriculum for youth ages 7-18. Workshops include basic piano, voice lessons, poetry, dance, drama, and sign language. Ms. Barber facilitates this program at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and the YWCA of Metropolitan Detroit. The goal of the program is to create and support arts education opportunities for underserved youth. Ms. Barber actively serves as the Program Director for the Michigan Association for Female Entrepreneurs. She most recently became a member of International Special Events Society, where she serves on the nomination committee.
